Tailored Learning: Improving you’re your child’s academic success
Our students are unique. They have abilities that no one else has and interests that they’d like to focus on more fully. With a tailored learning environment, students can fully explore those areas of strength. Instead of being held back to the standards of the rest of the class, students can move forward with their learning goals, allowing them to learn more about the areas that are most important to them. While they’ll still need to focus on all their core subjects, they can also explore areas of study within each of those core areas that are of particular interest to them.
The Pinehills academy personnel will provide a system of multi-tiered supports for students designed to maximize each individual student’s academic potential. These supports include opportunities for remediation and academic support through targeted interventions as well as for acceleration through participation in our classes.
Letter from the Principal
Dear Families,
I am pleased to be serving as the principal of The Pinehills Academy. I am thrilled to serve our community in a greater capacity and to continue the great work of all the past and present teachers and leaders here at Pinehills Academy. I have been a member of the Pinehills Academy community since 2013 when I joined the team as an Administrator in Residence and continued to serve last year as an Assistant Principal.
Although I am new to my current role, the mission and focus of the Pinehills Academy will remain the same. We will continue to operate a structured and supportive campus and provide rigorous instruction to ensure that all our students are prepared for college, leadership, and life. Year after year, our students continue to raise the bar for academic achievement and growth. I look forward to continuing this journey of academic, social, and behavioral success.
My vision for The Pinehills Academy this year is to continue to achieve success in these areas through fully adopting Restorative Practices and investing our students in the Cougar’s Creed which is centered around the core values of Community, Academics, Respect, and Excellence. Our incredibly skillful team of teachers, leaders, and staff members will be sure to hold students accountable to these core values through the adoption of new systems for discipline as well as revamped student incentive programming. It’s incredibly rewarding to see this vision coming to fruition already this year!
